Self-scanning apps where you can pack stuff directly into your bag are generally ideal for this sort of situation, particularly if it avoids having to touch a touchscreen, but not ideal when some sort of app fuckup not only requires an unhelpful oaf to come and re-scan ten items to then require a complete re-scan of the entire basket.
