Money down the drain...

This photo fails to convey the scale of the problem but since last Friday night there has been an increasingly steady outpouring of water from beneath the kerbstones on either side of my street. I reported this to the water company on both Friday and Saturday (when it turned into a partial iceberg!). Of course the report had to be made online using a fairly inadequate question and answer script as utilities no longer employ humans to answer phones. My report has finally shown up on the fault tracking page of the company's website today but I'm not holding my breath in anticipation of any actual repair work being carried out. The sheer waste of water in the past four days (and counting) makes me so angry - but perhaps I'm just expecting too much!
