Let Me Out!

This is an Oleander tree trying to grow out of a storm drain (slightly Snapseeded). If and when we ever do get any rain again I think this will get washed away instantly. I couldn't decide if it was trapped or escaping!

It was on the news today that we have had the hottest summer ever and we've had the most days over 40c ever! Just a bit uncomfortable to think it could get worse in the years to come ugh :(

The lake nearby has lost so much water to evaporation that it is extremely shallow, largely coated with algae and all the bigger birds have left.

The small ducks are still there and I noticed today that a couple of them have started building a nest out in the middle of the lake, it looks really strange, and is another thing that will be washed away when it finally does rain!

Tomorrow is going to be a little cooler, but no rain is predicted and I'm off into town with number two son for a big day out :). Even better, we have a Monday public holiday which I'm very glad about!
