Roadie pit stop
Mom and I packed up her car in howling sleety icy rainy snowy blowing craziness on Wednesday, frost bitten fingers and all, and this morning hit the road. South all the way, back home for Mom, through Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, and then finally into Maryland. The landscape by the Eastern Shore of Maryland shows the promise of spring. The farmland looks a little pregnant and the quality of the light is doing something to my insides. I feel a brewing energy that makes me want to open the windows and clean and tackle all the projects I've dumped on the pile marked "someday."
Too bad I will fly back north tomorrow and crave Mac and Cheese and bacon and sleep again!
Anyway... These lovely women are my mom and our dearest beautiful angel, Barbara Jean (best said with a sweet Georgian accent). We stopped in New Jersey -- our old stomping grounds and hers, still-- for a hug. Aren't they beauties? Ahhh.
