Yesterday I tried to walk along this path - locally known as the Electric Mile - but the ice was too slippy and water too deep. Today we managed to go down the path for the first time since Christmas ... everywhere is very muddy but passable. I’m trying to stick to the paths but it’s not easy.
We had 3 large sleepers and 140kg soil delivered today. Josh would have worked on the raised beds but he had another job interview. I’m surprised how much time it takes - not just the searching and writing applications, but the HR interview, the technical test, reading research papers and writing an appraisal of them, the second interview, sometimes a third interview. All require preparation and most of them are internships paid at minimum wage or below. The company he really wants to work for have done 3 interviews so far and he just needs to do a final one with a senior manager who just became a father recently so has delayed the interview for weeks - it’s now more than 7 weeks since his first interview with that company and he’s done hours of preparation for each stage.
His unpaid research with Imperial continues though... and thank goodness for the ‘bank of mum and dad)
