Valentine's Day
Valentine's Day. No cards or hearts because, well, we never do, but MrM declared it a good reason to have steak for dinner. A very rare treat! So he cooked us a very tasty meal of steak and chips, followed by a piece of the sponge cake that he rustled up in the afternoon. In the mood for baking, he also made some oven-bottom muffins! Meanwhile, I had an easy day, pottering mostly, though I did delve into the depths of the large cupboard at the end of the hall to establish how much primer and undercoat we still have. Tomorrow I shall finally order the paint for the hall.
Jacqui and Fletch passed by and it was good to have a socially distanced, if perishing cold, catch up!
The temperature has risen rapidly this evening, and while sitting at the computer for a while I could hear the occasional thud as snow fell off the roof, and the sound of water dripping on to the flat roof as the icicles on the gutter started melting.
