Meet Dave

My Dear Princess, Loulou and Fellows,

So, The Cat Formerly Known as "Marms" turns out to be called "Dave". We found this out from our next door neighbour who also gets him visiting a lot.

Apparently he belongs to a family with three small children. Which is why he's out a lot. Tonight, he brought his black and white friend with him. I assume she's from the same family, but we don't really know.

They are very cute, and spent a lot of this evening jumping at at moths on the outside of our door, attracted by the light.

While I kind of liked the name Marms, I have to admit, that Dave suits Dave too. He's a lovely wee fellow, and if you step outside to say hello to him he leaps up and tries to grab your hand with his little paws (claws in, he is very considerate).

In other news, Kainga Ora staff have been told to work from home this week, after it was confirmed that the three new cases in Auckland are all the UK strain. There was a bit of a sense of "oh no, not again" from some of my colleagues on the Zoom today, but I - in my pyjama bottoms - remained sanguine.

It just means more Punky and Jasper time. And Dave too, of course.

S.
