Until today the poor sheep have had difficulty trying to get the swedes from beneath the deep snow so have been congregating around the silage. Taking advantage of the thawing snow we went along paths through woods and fields yet still had problems in places with the snow being almost knee depth in many places making it hard to walk. For part of the way we went along a road where the drifts were almost five feet deep by the roadside and appeared to have been cleared very recently. Now all the snow has fallen off the shrubs and trees and most of the cars so probably there will be very little snow left tomorrow and the attractive white landscape will revert to green and brown again.
