I was overlocked

Not misspelt. This is an 'Overlocker' the device used by busy fingers to fold the edge of a piece of material and keep it folded by lock-stitching it in place. As you may be able to make out, this has four threads being fed to the needle. Chaps, chaps, wake up - the needle is automatically fed by a jet of air. Cor! Blimey, luv a duck. 
I'm very delighted for my Valentine Garden Fairy, this is the first time she tried using her machine and she got it right, all by herself. The hardest part for me to cope with was when she RTBM. Yes, honest.
