Ice

Another cracking sunny day, but frustrating that it is so cold in the wind that the snow will not melt off our PV panels on the roof. It's ideal weather for producing electricity! On the ground where there is a hard surface and the snow has been cleared, the remains have melted and mostly dried away. Where it can't dry off there are puddles so long as the sun shines on it.

This was very clear when Luna and I set off for the evening walk around Ottobeuren's mill. The photo shows Luna sitting on several centimetres of pure ice which just an hour or two before had been a massive puddle on the gravel path. Regardless, it was a lovely walk, most on the fields where the snow gives one a good grip.

Then popped into a supermarket to get a few things I had forgotten yesterday - what a joy in Ottobeuren to go shopping - space and people acting sensibly. Our county is still behind the majority in Bavaria and while we are getting close to the 50 per 100,000 7-Day Case Incidence. Very frustrating, and I still don't understand it and rest blame at our Covidiot County Council chief.  Even if our vaccine programme won't really get rolling until April when the large number of deliveries are promised, it is at least nice to see Germany sticking with the 2-jab routine and not falling with the "world-leading" game of others.
We have had nearly 4m vaccines (pop. 80m): 2.6m have had 1st jab, 1.4m both jabs.
