Angostura, SD to Keystone, SD

A busy day of driving....
We found an incredible campsite last night at Angostura Reservoir State Recreation Area, South Dakota, slept like logs, and woke to incredible views.
After an unfortunate incident emptying our waste tanks, we headed off on the open road.
We took in Buffalo Gap, Wind Cave National Park, and Custer before our first stop at Crazy Horse, and the incredible mountain carving which is in progress. When complete, this will be truly awe inspiring, sadly that will not be within my lifetime.
The idea of Chief Crazy Horse pointing defiantly back towards the land which was taken from the American Indian tribes is very powerful indeed.
We then motored on, to Mount Rushmore, the focus of Crazy Horse’s ire.
This too is undoubtedly pretty impressive, and a sight to behold, but is very commercialised.
We then toured a little of Custer State Park, and saw dozens and dozens of buffalo.
Tonight’s rest stop is at an RV park in Keystone, SD, with oblique views of the Rushmore Memorial.
