Happy Valentine's day.

The flowers are on my kitchen table but in 2 separate vases. My flower arranging teacher said never mix daffodils with other flowers as they exude a substance that shortens the life of the other flowers. Maybe it was tulips - anyway don't mix daffodils and tulips. I am hoping for a good display of tulips in the garden; I planted 1000 bulbs last autumn. I have checked and it is daffodils that cannot be mixed with other plants (except other members of jonquil family, alliums and irises)
