Inversion

The morning started slowly and there seemed no rush to head out into the subzero temperatures. Instead we enjoyed watching this inversion lift from the comfort of home. At midday I persuaded M to come out for a walk by the river. There were some special ice formations as well as the formation of a whirlpool by a small tributary, seen clearly by the clumps of ice floating on the water's surface.
Ater lunch I met up with a friend and we headed up on the snowy trails glancing at the beautiful curves the skitourers have made in the snow over the last few days. I had suggested a ski, but she suggested a walk and talk. A brilliant choice and a chance to practise my Italian language skills!
