Icy water feature

A really long walk today, about 20 miles. Up to a gravel pits nature reserve where by complete chance I met an ex work colleague out for a lunchtime breath of fresh air. So that was the day’s human encounter. On the wildlife front I enjoyed seeing the Trusts’s flock of Jacobs sheep - there is a newborn lamb somewhere but mother and baby were wisely hiding from the cold east wind. Highlight of the day seeing some goosanders on a neighbouring gravel pit. Oh and the water feature is where one of the gravel conveyer belts crosses the Maxey Cut watercourse.
