Christmas expectations dashed

Retro posting this photo. When I put up the Christmas tree, it was in the expectation of a lovely Christmas with family. Not to be as with only a few day’s notice, Christmas socialising was banned. It is now February 13th and we are still living in this strange twilight half life, where a trip to the supermarket seems the only interaction between humans that is still legal, unless you want to go to hospital and risk being one of the 40% of covid cases that were contracted in hospital (SAGE paper, Oct 2020). Good that the vaccine rollout is going well.
