Automata
Well Spring has most sprung, and it was wall to wall sunshine today, tho still icy on the canal. The light has definitely changed and a few times this week I've had that happy moment when you go to turn off a light and realise, that no, it's actually sunshine!!!
I popped into my local museum on the way home as I'd heard that Lisa Slater was exhibiting more of her charming, characterful and skillfully-made automata. We had the place to ourselves and spent an entertaining half hour turning handles and watching these horses/donkeys/unicorns move in quite life-like ways. Her other automata using old procelein doll heads are pretty creepy in comparison to these loveable animals, but clever none-the-less.
And in other news, the wren is still hanging out in the garden, so hopefully a better pic will be forthcoming in time.
Nearly the weekend folks!
