Slow, don't use the brakes

About half-session, our therapist's colleague came and told us it was starting to be very slippery on the roads, and we should maybe head home right away before it got totally impossible.

Reduced speed and braking as little as possible ensured I got home safely, in about twice the time it normally takes me, and with minimum skidding... Oh, and it allowed me to verify that my (automatic) car can indeed start in second gear.

It is amazing how scared people are of driving in these conditions.
