Helter-skelter

Never mind 'Helter-skelter'...

It's all gone higgledy-piggledy!

I've changed the days I'm at school so I can stick with the same class for all their geography lessons and so it's all a bit confusing - almost like jet lag, when your body clock is all mixed up! So far, so good, though... all things considered. Looking forward to testing out some serious behaviour management techniques - fingers crossed they work!

Anyway, I spent this morning preparing tomorrow's lesson - a whole morning. That's a privilege I know I won't have in a few months! The topic is 'People of the Amazon Rainforest' so after I picked my kids up from school we scooted over to our local llama park (as you do!) to mooch around the gift shop. I had no idea what I was looking for but ended up coming away with a rain stick and one of these thumb pianos. Although they supposedly originated in the African rainforest, close your eyes and have a listen, it's magical and sounds pretty Amazonian to me.

Of course, mine will sound more like this. If all else fails on the 'behaviour management' side tomorrow, I shall tortue them with it: 'BEHAVE OR I'LL PLAY THE THUMB PIANO AGAIN!!!'
