Astonished!
Not just by the wonderful ice formations to be seen along Harden Beck leading to the waterfall, like these that have formed on an overhanging holly, but by the amazing efficiency of the NHS, especially here in Yorkshire, because two days after Chris got his notification for vaccination I was contacted too last night. Although a different age bracket, just, I made my appt this morning for my vaccination tomorrow which means we will both be vaccinated ( Covid) in the same week. Much sooner than I expected.
After that good news and another brilliant bright winter morning I set off on my own up Goit Stock specifically to see ice on the Beck and waterfall. It was an extremely cold night so I thought there would be a good chance.
I was delighted to be accompanied by two Dippers which I mentioned to a gentleman I met with a serious camera, he seemed pleased to know.
Also I met and chatted to several other folk some I knew and some I haven’t met before, always a pleasant addition to a walk and not too busy to be difficult to social distance.
I really wanted to make the most of this weather, a heavy snow shower late afternoon yesterday had left light covering of snow making everywhere pretty, so much more enjoyable than the warmer ‘mush’ that will apparently be returning next week.
