Life on the Mothership!

By TheMothership

My horse is such a witch!

However I'm delighted to be bringing her back in to work when a few weeks ago I thought she'd never be ridden again. She had a sacroiliac problem and was moving in a very painful way. Been allowed out for grass a couple of hours a day and today was the first time of seeing how she was moving in hand at trot. As that looked ok we've walked around the little block (2 miles) and will continue to walk for the next 4 to 6 weeks increasing the time gradually. Although she's 20 I'd be bereft if I couldn't ride her any more. She is my escape and I cannot bare the thought of not having that. I've been riding her for 17 years and broke her in myself. She's not really a people horse much preferring her horse mates (not Ben though) however that has suited my situation fine as eldest son's health or snow quite sometimes means I cannot get to see her (someone else does her) but I know she's not really affected by it as long as her routine stays the same. She is a one off bless her.
