Dead rock rose

Might be well past its use-by date, but this rock rose is still keeping its form very well, even though it technically fell off the perch several weeks ago. A fraction of its live size, and all the colours have slowly morphed into a dull brown, but every petal remains perfectly formed and perfectly in place.
Which is doing a whole lot better than normal garden roses on their way out, where the petals shrivel and fall off in a matter of days, living behind a scraggly, rather unsightly mess.
On the other hand, rock roses aren't much chop as cut flowers in a vase, like normal garden roses can be. Instead of putting on a display for several days or a week, rock roses never really feel at home in a vase, and curl up their toes within two or three days at best. Better off leaving them in the garden amongst their friends and colleagues.
Not so much mess to clean up afterwards, either.
