Back on to day two of three. The large part of the morning was dominated by the chatter of a small helicopter transporting under slung loads of fencing materials to the slopes on the north side of the valley. I always think the unloaded sling trailing below the aircraft could swing in to the tail rotor but there must be some sort of safety margin built in somewhere and I'm sure they know what they are doing.
Its funny, two nights away from home makes it feel like a long week. When I worked with a contractor years ago getting home on the Friday, or even Saturday night was the norm. Back then I had many colleagues in that boat with young family at home. These poor guys must have missed out on so much and it obviously must have been difficult for their partners too.
At least our projects are relatively short and there is always an end in sight, and of course it pays the bills.
