Clay Lane Pit
Ball clay is still being extracted from this pit & others in the area. Knighton pit was where I had planned to get my blip but when walking around Knighton heath with Indie earlier I noticed that the machinery was working & as there are signs everywhere informing the public to keep out, I kept out, and blipped this pit on the way back home. I walked the perimeter fence but as it's topped with barbed wire I could'nt get a better vantage point.
Thanks to steveng for hosting Wide Wednesday, this weeks challenge - Earth/Wind. There was a bitterly cold wind so I was well wrapped up for today's walk which was very pleasurable as the recently sodden heath was hard & crisp. "We" even managed to avoid any fresh deer tracks, although both Indie & I could sense they were'nt far away.
Tonight's dinner was a bit of an experiment -Turkey, bacon, homemade stuffing, cranberry sauce layered with potato, onion, parsnip, & carrot in pastry traybake. Well I had a jar of cranberry sauce unused from Xmas. Empty plates .. that's a good sign. :-)
