Down to the wire

Film - The Dig. Enjoyed this gentle Netflix offering. The Suffolk landscapes, impeccable lead performances and interesting historical detail all played their part. Found the first half more successful where the focus was more on the archeological aspects. The second half concerned itself more with the personal lives of those behind the Dig, and these romantic frills, for me, felt a little heavy handed, in a film where understatement had been part of the charm.
