Quality Kit

I love my digital vernier gauge.   My son bought one for me for Christmas several years ago and it has had a lot of use since.

Unfortunately it fell to bits recently so I have replaced it with this beautiful piece of kit.   Mitutoyo is a Japanese firm that makes some of the best precision tools but they are normally very expensive.   I found this one on Amazon at a very good price.  I since read that many of the cheap ones available are fake copies made in China but I am pleased that on checking this against all the tell-tale signs of a knock-off it seems to be genuine.   It certainly feels nice and gives very accurate repeatable results.
