Beating the Beast

MrP planned a linear walk walking westwards so that the wind would always be behind us; it nearly worked as it was warm in the sunshine and when out of the bitingly-cold wind.  We left a car near Gilpin Farm then walked from home along unknown paths to the north of Crook, with some lovely views of the snowy fells.
