A proper snow day
This has been a proper snow day, with Mollies nursery closed, and Henry also unable to get to work. We woke to that beautiful bright crisp whiteness that newly fallen snow gives.
Then, a day in the fridge (my new name for the summerhouse office). I had dressed appropriately though, and after starting at 7.30, was stripping off a layer (woolly hat and poncho) by 10.30. Thankfully I had no 'Teams' meetings today, so noone knew how Michelin-man-like I had started the day.
It was a very busy day for me as more than half the team were on leave. I did eventually get through some of my pensions, but was later to leave than I would have liked, and didn't do everything I would normally do of my own work. Anyway, no harm done, I will get help tomorrow and will be back on track.
At lunchtime I filled the fat ball feeders and scattered the little dried worm things and seeds on a table for the blackbird. She had been trying hard all day to get fat balls, but couldn't catch on the holder. But even once I had made it easy with the seeds she continued to go for the fat balls. I think a fat pigeon came and ate all the mealworms. A bit annoying.
Had a nice catch up on whatapp video chat with a friend from Linton after work. It really has become the only way to see a friendly face. What would we do without this technology I wonder. Then another WhatsApp video chat with Manda and mum.
Mollie cooked a really nice, low calories chilli con carne. I went off the diet last week, but am starting again this week. Hopeful to lose a pound this week, and every week now for 10 weeks, and I will be happy!
Quizzing now with only connect, and then Jon loves Would I Lie to You, and I'm not fussed. I started some knitting last night so will continue. Then Long Lost Family at 9!
Still snowing outside. We had more than our fair share....
