A Smattering

Not quite enough snow, nor quite cold enough to make for good underfoot conditions. Indeed, the snow was in that dangerous in-between state. It made for some desperate running on the tops. There was enough of it to camouflage the peaty pools of water and slush, but the ice-covered surface was too thin to support much weight. It was a good decision not to go the Goretex route again. The forecast is for more snow and colder temperatures tomorrow, which might actually make it easier to stay dry and warmer. It took a while to thaw out again today.
