Here we go again – Day 35

Isn't it cold?  Don't know what the temperature has been today but Ann has never known it so cold in Edinburgh. In fact her 'dog walking clothes' aren't warm enough for this weather and the temperature is going to drop to -5C later in the week so she's ordered herself some thermal lined trousers and a thermal lined waterproof parka online. Here's hoping they fit?!  She hates buying clothes online but needs must, unless she wants to end up with hypothermia every time she takes me out.

Anyway this morning I had a fabulous walk up Blackford Hill and through the Hermitage. It might have been very cold but we'd far rather that, than the dreadful rain we've had recently. We were out for almost 2 hrs and I was zooming around all over the place so Ann doesn't think that I feel the cold like she does. She keeps contemplating buying me a coat but she doesn't really think I need one because I do so much running. However, I didn't bother going into the burn today so I must have realised that it was pretty cold.

…...........And the good thing about walking in such cold weather is...................... the ground is frozen so I don't get dirty. Normally when we get to the end of the Hermitage I know that I've got to go into the burn to get clean but today Ann said, 'Trixie, you're lovely and clean so I'll just pop you back on your lead.'

It takes about 20 mins to walk home from the Hermitage but guess what happened when we got back into the flat?.............................. I had to go straight into the kitchen to have my paws washed. And they weren't even dirty!!! For those of you that look at our BLIPS regularly you will know that Ann bought me a 'paw washer' a few days ago and I'm having to practise using it every day. It's actually quite a good little thing and I'm getting used to it now. Lots of treats help!!  And apparently heavy snow is forecast for tomorrow so my paw washer will be useful if I walk on pavements that have salt on them because salt isn't good for doggies paws.

And that's been our day. Went out for a short walk this afternoon and it was even colder than it was this morning. Now we're indoors all warm and cosy and we're not going out again until it's time for my bedtime wee.
