Scrabo Tower

We went to Newtownards today and did the short, but steep climb up to Scrabo Tower. It was freezing, but the views were lovely.. On a clear day you can see the Scottish coast, the Mourne Mountains, Strangford Lough and the Isle of Man (depending on which side of the building you are looking  from). The Tower was built in 1859 to commemorate the life of Charles William Stewart, a local Landlord... It was designed in the Scottish Baronial style.. Apparently, some scenes from the Dracula Untold movie were filmed here.... I wonder what the two elderly sisters who ran a tea room on the ground floor until 1966 would have made of that!!!... Hope that everyone is keeping warm and safe in the cold weather...
