Quilting Memories

There was an exhibition in the Parliament's Garden Lobby today - the Hampden Park Quilt Project. The intention is to make 5000 quilts to cover Hampden Park with the intention of raising awareness of those living with dementia.

People are invited to contribute with 1 sq metre quilts. The quilts on show today were all representations of the makers' understanding of dementia. I liked them all but this one particularly appealed to me with the dandelion image of memories floating away on the breeze.

My Dad had vascular dementia.
