Bark Beetle Art

Update on the bike from yesterday: still parked by the pole but secured by a heavy cable lock! Has to be a story there.
A lovely sunny day but a bitterly cold wind. We did enjoy the sun's warmth in more sheltered places. 
This is part of the trunk of a beautiful old oak tree that came down a few years ago. We were so sad the first time we walked down Xwaaqw'um and saw it on the ground after a wind storm. It split in two. We walked through the field today to have a closer look at it. 
Extras: a branch of the oak against the blue sky; a red ant hill. We had a look at it the other day and someone's been poking it. The ants were busy repairing it.
