You Never Know What you Might See!!
It is hard work being retired - and meeting friends for coffee! Jenny and I have been friends since our children were at school together and they are now both 39 - so quite a long time!
We hadn't seen each other for a while, so met for a coffee in M & S - two hours later we decided we had better vacate our table - but not before we had demolished two large lattes and a chocolate Hot Cross Bun - and before you say yuk, you should try one - they are quite yummy!
On our way out, we stopped next to the new black mannequins - Mannequin comes from the French word mannequin, which had acquired the meaning "an artist's jointed model", which in turn came from the Middle Dutch word manneken, meaning "little man, figurine". Jenny knows I do a blip every day, so said that they would make a good one for today - so despite having decided I would blip the local monstrosity fountain, decided that this might be much more interesting!
Took a few more photographs and had a lovely time chatting with the ladies from M & S who were dressing the said mannequins - explained to them what I did, and told them to look online and they would see the results.
Isn't it wonderful and uplifting to the spirit when people interact together - we had a good time, there was much laughter, and I hope the M & S ladies appreciated our comments - you will see that my friend, Jenny, was quite taken with her mannequin - I did persuade her to leave him there though!
It says in Ecclesiastes 3 : 4 that there is:
".....a time to laugh....."
and it was certainly our time this morning.
For those of you not retired, take heart - tomorrow is Friday!!
