Tempe Basin Motor Boat Association

The Tempe Basin Motor Boat Association has seen better days. Just look at the state of its sign. As recently as November 2020 there was a notice on Facebook about a clean up of the yard but a peek behind the fence revealed a lot of junk and very derelict boats. I detected no human activity on any of the numerous occasions on which I have ambled down there.

The tower in the background is on Sydney Airport land and supplies it with water. In 2014 the locals lobbied the local Federal MP in an attempt to prevent the airport from carrying out its plans to paint the water tower with the corporate logo of Tiger Air. No sign of such a logo so the locals must have won and it's just as well for all concerned as Tiger Air has gone belly up.
