Best friends

This is my son Paul, aged 4, (on the left) and his best friend Alex, aged 3, in 1992. They first met when we moved here in 1990, when Alex was 9 months old and Paul was 22 months. They became friends almost straight away and his Mum Paula was quickly my closest friend. She was over 10 years younger than me and was such fun! Alex was quick thinking and inquisitive very early on and walked early - so he and Paul could play around together. Sadly, Paula and her family moved out to Belgium when Paul was 5, so the friendship became long distance. We visited her a couple of times, but the children are no longer friends as they have their own lives and were so young when they were best pals. It's lovely to look back on - they even had the same dinosaur soft toys in different colours in this photo!
