Sunny Sandwich

We’re enjoying today’s sunshine after yesterday’s light snow, and more snow is due tomorrow...thus, a sunshine sandwich, and it tastes SO good :) • Dabbling Mallards and Common Mergansers shared the open water on the river today. I’m always amazed at how different the Merganser males look from the females. The male with his dark dapper green head, and the female with her wild red feathery-hair! Their orange bills have sharp edges for catching slippery fish, sometimes up to twelve inches long. Yes, these ducks eat fish! • All of our seed and suet feeders are filled, and food and apples set out for the deer tonight, but hoping Blipzen stops by this afternoon. The intent is to get everyone fed before the storm starts around noon tomorrow • Enjoy your Saturday, be one with your own wild hair!
