Spring Crocus
Crocus albiflorus (though see TonyG below)
Today began very foggy and is ending in sunshine. How lovely.
I started the day with a walk in the reserve and came out at the far end to see how the misty town looked. (There's a diary shot in Extras showing the Willow Tree pub and part of the city's new flood defences).
This crocus, however, I picked in the Close on my way home. As so often with wildflowers, I'd assumed the rather pale mauve crocuses that pop up all over the place were simply garden escapes, but apparently not. So my second wildflower of 2021.
Happy Saturday evening, all xx
