Shed base
Everything is now ready for the delivery of my new shed on Tuesday afternoon.
After our morning exercise*, the head gardener (Paddy) and his assistant (Caitlin) dug a little beyond the point that Mr hazelh reached on Tuesday (blipped on Wednesday), laid a layer of sand, checked that everything was straight with a spirit level, then added the slabs. The pair of them worked bravely outside in the cold for over three hours. Although I supplied cups of tea over the course of this time, and steaming mugs of soup as part of a patio picnic lunch for two (with cheese and pickle sandwiches), by the time they left for home our workers looked very much in need of a hot bath.
While Paddy and Caitlin were busy outdoors, I baked two lemon drizzle cakes (one for them to take home, one for us), and Mr hazelh continued work on the photobook of my no-longer-secret recreational project. Then I engaged in a bit of blip catch-up.
Tonight Mr hazelh is making pizzas and we will watch at least one episode of It's a sin (la!)
It's been good to take a day off academic work.
*Exercise today: short walk with Caitlin while Paddy ran 10k with Mr hazelh. (I can't run due to knee injury - again, gnash!)
