Last week the doctor told me to come back (tomorrow) if my chest infection hadn't cleared.

It hasn't.

So I went down today to make an appointment to see said doctor.

All appointments taken with all doctors for the next two weeks.

I am going to have to phone (along with everyone else) at 8am and 'try' to get an emergency appointment.

So obviously eveyone who is actually sick has to be well enough to fight for a place - or argue with NHS 24 (which is no good for me when the doctor wants to arrange a chest X-Ray).

It is no wonder that so many people fail to turn up for their appointment each month - they either forget because it was made so far in advance, they are no longer ill, or they have died waiting.
