Missed!

I went for a walk this afternoon - my usual. I spotted 4 Pied Wagtails - a year tick - and stopped to take a photo. A bloke with a monster lens approached me and said "have you got it?" Turned out he was looking for a Black Redstart, quite a scarcity in these parts. I continued with my walk. To cut a long story short, after contacting a birding friend, I found out that it had indeed been sighted locally, so I retraced my steps and caught a glimpse of it, but it was then spooked by my neighbour on the path, so I didn't get a good look, and no photo. Oh well. Perhaps there'll  be a chance tomorrow.
