Payoff

As I've said before, grab the moment! It's not every year we have any ice at all, so it feels very special to have the chance of actually skating on it. The temperature has been below zero since last week and might keep on staying there for another week. If we're lucky there won't be too much snow, that would make skating more difficult, or even impossible.

This afternoon, eight of us went for more or less the same trip as I did yesterday, with a different fika place though. The experience doing it with other people is different than being alone, of course but I like this too. The wind was somewhat stronger today so it was a bit of a struggle skating the three km we had planned, into the wind. Going back, after the coffee break was a delight though. With the wind in our backs, the sinking sun in our faces and three km of smooth ice ahead of us felt like a well deserved desert to a lovely day.
