Rainy walk to Wylam

Today we walked to Wylam and back with the dogs. The stream that we followed all the way down was fast-flowing and spilling over at times. At the point where it reached the Tyne, by the signal box here, the river was raging and so noisy & full! We walked over the bridge and up to the pharmacy and I was delighted to discover that the Black Bull pub had created a kiosk selling fresh scones, tray baked, panninis and coffee (see extra). They also have themed meal nights and Sunday lunches available to preorder and collect.
On the way back I stopped to admire the painted stones at the cenotaph and a couple of soggy herons, each in their own spot, along the river bank.
