Where’s Heidi?

I had an eye watering moment today. As promised I bought chocolate and crisps for my yr8 boy who’s in school. When he came to the classroom he looked a little down, so I took out the treats and laid them on the table for him and his eyes lit up! He said he thought I was joking about getting snacks...I don’t joke about chocolate. When he took some of the chocolate he told me he hadn’t had any for ages because his family don’t go the shop to buy treats etc, just the essentials. At the end of the lesson when we had 3/4 of the bar left, I told him to take it home with him, and the joy in his face was just heartbreaking. He was so taken aback and delighted. It melted my heart. So today I’m thinking about those who are less fortunate and hoping that they too have a chocolate bar moment soon.
