taking flight
Our now well trodden dry path around the village takes us via St Alkmunds onto the river bank. As we walked through to the back of the church grounds a buzzard saw us first and flew from a tree onto the top of the church extension. I didn't have a long lens with me but crept out of sight of the bird for as long as far as I could to try to get a closer shot. As soon as I peeked around the corner he was off. The shot is heavily cropped but you get the idea. I was cursing not bringing out my long lens again when when we had a goldcrest flitting around in front of us not seeming to mind that we were stood there.
