Glorious day with a duckling

The day started wet but developed into the most glorious one.
This was late afternoon on the beach below our home. The sun dips very fast and so another capture few minutes later in extras.

Whilst we were out we had a FaceTime call from Izzy who was keen to show us the latest arrival. I don’t know what the duck mother was thinking to start her family this early. The children found this tiny one near their den alone and cold. They caught up with the mother and five other chicks when they got to the feed station. There she was introducing the other ducklings to food. It seems that it is a weak duckling so the children may hand rear it.
We managed a FaceTime capture of Izzy with the duckling which is in extras.  
Let us hope for more days like this coming up.
