Gasometer at Hoxton on Regents Canal

My Birthday.
The picture doesn't do it justice.

I had an epiphany. But don't tell the police.

On my cruise towards Limehouse I had noticed lots of Gasometers. On the canal side. They would have been a feature in most towns. I remember there was one in Watford near the Dome roundabout.
Disappeared in the 90s I believe to make way for an Asda super store.

Some on the regents canal have been used and turned into places for people to live.
I'll try snd get a picture of one on the way back.

To the point I was going to make.

Why so many by the canal and I thought Ah.
Coal . Victorian times they would have been a good place to site them for supplying its raw material.
