Setsubun

Celebrated annually, today was Japan’s bean throwing festival.

It’s supposed to celebrate the beginning of spring by scaring evil spirits away and welcoming good fortune.

Typically, you throw roasted soy beans out of your front door or preferably at someone dressed up as a devil whilst shouting ‘Demons out! Good fortune in!’
