This stamp was issued before I was born and has a face value of 5d when issued and if you bought it today it would cost you 10p. Not a huge gain over 50 years... The M in RMS stands for Mail, and was given to ships to carry the mail around the empire for the Royal Mail. The QM2 has the RMS prefix, but doesn't carry mail...
