The Pinkie Pillars

The Pinkie Pillars were erected in 1770 and they marked the eastern boundary of Musselburgh. Each pillar has an urn on top of it, bearing the town's coat of arms. Musselburgh has expanded far beyond the original boundary but the pillars remain on either side of the High Street.
