Sally Mair - Loving life

The last rose of Summer... in February?

I'm on strict lockdown until Thursday now, so no further than the garden today. Mind you I didn't really want to go anywhere. The weather has been foul. We haven't had the snow other places have had, just rain and sleet. This rose in our back garden has been there through all of the winter, its petals are starting to turn now, but it's done so well. It's a Queen Elizabeth, a very tall rose often used for hedging but not in this case. To be honest it's rather straggly and if it wasn't entwined in our beautiful pink camellia it wouldn't be there any longer. It's putting up a good fight for survival though.
I've had a housework blitz this morning, how dull when that is the high point of my day!
Not surprising to hear that our lockdown in Scotland has been extended.
As you may have realised, I do like my numbers. I like watching the numbers in the Public Health Scotland chart of positive tests by local authority which I've copied as an extra. Considering that Edinburgh is the second largest city in Scotland we seem to be doing something right. Long may it last.
Keep safe everybody, let's keep these numbers going down.
